The Secret Buddha Garden is found in Koh Samui and was built by a local Samui fruit farmer in 1976. It is a beautiful garden with flora that is found all over Thailand, as well as several Buddha statues that depict different meanings.

The Journey
You can either take the journey by yourself or join a safari tour that goes to the Secret Garden. Taking the journey by yourself is only advisable if you are an experienced, off-road driver. Throughout the journey, you can always stop at the highest point of Koh Samui to get a spectacular look at the whole island and the neighbouring ones. It is under an hour away from Chaweng resorts, including properties such as Anantara Lawana Koh Samui Resort.
The Garden
Upon entering the garden, you will be met with beautiful miniature waterfalls and beautiful verdant surroundings. Tiny statues flank these vistas and can be found on either side of the stream that flows through the heart of the garden. The statues have deep meanings to them but some are hard to decipher as there are no guides to denote the original Buddhist meanings.
Statues
Arguably one of the biggest attractions of the garden, it is full of these intricately carved figures. This includes statues of deities, animals and humans. There is even a statue of the creator of the garden, Nim Thongsuk, sitting on a rock with a calm demeanour.
